This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) covers our collection, use, and disclosure of information we collect through the National Business Portal (NBP) website as a part of our investment facilitation service.  The NBP is owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) and managed and operated by Jamaica Promotions Corporation - JAMPRO. In this Privacy Policy, the words "we", "our" and "us" refer to the NBP and/or JAMPRO and all the Business Facilitation Partners (BFPs) of the NBP with which JAMPRO has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs). 

 

Your security and the security of your information is important to us and we at NBP/JAMPRO are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal, corporate data and/ or project data that you may choose to transmit via our website. It is important to us that you are secure in browsing and interfacing with the NBP/JAMPRO through this website.  

 

As certain types of information about investors and their projects are shared and gathered through the Portal, we want to ensure that you fully understand the terms and conditions under which you use the site, and how the information is captured, used and shared.  It is the policy of the NBP/JAMPRO to only use any personal and project information acquired for facilitation purposes only and this information will always remain private and confidential.  The NBP and its affiliates (JAMPRO/BFPs) are committed to the proper management of the personal information of all visitors/users of the Portal.

The NBP/JAMPRO utilises your Information to undertake its functions in the following ways: 

Facilitate the streamlined implementation of investment interests/projects and/or share, retrieve additional information for investors to enable them to make the best possible decision regarding their investment in Jamaica 

To provide feedback and advisory information to investors about development requirements and possible opportunities for their businesses/investments 

To assist in providing the investment facilitation services requested 

 

Log Data: 

Like many website operators, the NBP/JAMPRO uses third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyse general information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Portal ("Log Data”).  This Log Data may include information such as but not limited to, your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, the browser and operating system used, the name of the web site from which you linked to the NBP, the name of the file or words you searched, the pages of the NBP that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, items clicked on a page and other statistics. 

 

This log data is used to measure the number of guests to our site, analyse patterns of usage, and to improve our service to you. The NBP/JAMPRO will not share or sell visitor/user log data for the purposes of advertising, marketing, or any other commercial purpose. 

  

Security of Information: 

The NBP/JAMPRO maintains IT policies and procedures and has security features in place to keep your information secured once it has been received by the Portal. However, we cannot guarantee the security of your data while it is in transit over the Internet. 

 

You should at all times keep your NBP Login password ("Password") confidential and secure. The NBP/JAMPRO will at no time request your Password by e-mail or other modes of communication, other than as an authentication key for entry into and submissions within the Portal’s website.  You shall immediately notify info@jamprocorp.com (“Contact Us") in writing if you reasonably believe that your Password is compromised or was used in an unauthorised manner. Our Contact Agent will provide an acknowledgement confirming receipt of this notice as soon as reasonably practicable. We are not deemed to have received such notice unless our Contact Agent has acknowledged receipt in writing. 

 

Disclosure of Information: 

We shall not disclose your information without your consent, save and except where the NBP/JAMPRO is required by law to do so. 

 

External links: 

The Portal contains external links (hyperlinks) to other websites whose data protection and privacy practices may differ from ours. Under no circumstances shall the NBP/JAMPRO be considered to be responsible for the content and privacy practices of the other websites and we encourage you to consult the privacy notices of the respective websites. 

 

Hyperlinks from the NBP to other websites are provided as a convenience. We reserve the right to disable them or even to change the URL of the NBP website itself. If you create a link to the NBP website, you do so at your own risk.  We reserve the right to impose conditions when permitting any hyperlinking to, or framing of, the Portal or any of its contents.  In addition, we reserve the right to object to or disable any link to the Portal for any reason. 

 

Modifications to this Privacy Policy: 

The NBP/JAMPRO shall reserve the right to update, make any minor or major change to these privacy policy terms and conditions from time to time without any prior notice. Changes will be posted on this page and we encourage our NBP visitors/users to check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of this website after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by our revised Privacy Policy. 

 

Cookies: 

This site generates persistent session cookies (that is, they have an expiry date and are removed on that date) for the purpose of monitoring site usage. The cookies don't collect personal information. You can disable them or clear them out of your web browser without affecting your ability to use the site. 

 

Conclusion: 

As mentioned above, we only use your personal, corporate and project information in order to appropriately process your investment facilitation requests and to present you with the information you need to advance the implementation of your projects or proposals.  

 

We also use the information you provide voluntarily in order to make your visits on our site possible and more productive.
